Thank you for a great term 2013/2014‏!

Dear members,

Today being the last day of the term 2013/2014, I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your unwavering support during the last 12 months. Because of your support and dedication, our club has managed to achieve 10 out of 10 DCP goals for this term.

Did you ever notice how the meeting room of 1.05 is always ready for the meeting and food is always ready for your partaking? That was courtesy of CHEE FONG HOECC, our dedicated Sergeant-At-Arms who diligently emailed the KDU management every week to remind them of the room we need for our meetings and constantly communicates with our car caterer.

And did you ever notice how we manage to keep afloat on the club funds, even in spite of the exorbitant rental and provision of refreshments for the meeting? That's thanks to our Treasurer, CHAN YEW CHOONGCC, who keeps track of all incomings and outgoings, collecting all membership dues and registering each and everyone of you on Toastmasters International to keep your membership alive. This is how the Exco knew how many members we were serving and what we needed to do to keep the club finances in the pinkest of health.

Did you also wonder how the Exco managed to keep it altogether and get the club moving? We had meetings, thanks to our Secretary's reminders and excellent minute-taking to remind us of what we had planned and what we were supposed to do next. That's JASMINE KHOO for you.

And how about the Facebook group and the club website at That was our Vice-President Public Relations, JACK NG, CC, who uploaded photos on both mediums and posted new information ever so often. If any of you have become insanely famous partly because of your exposure on either the Facebook group or the club website, you owe it to him.

Did you notice how the club has suddenly gained new faces at the meetings, taking up roles and giving speeches? That was only possible because our Vice-President Membership, CHOONG VOON KWONG, has been following up closely with those who had consistently attended our meetings 3 times in 2 months. His incredible persuasive powers probably had a lot to do with it as well.

Have you observed how our club has produced more awards than needed for all those 10 DCP goals given to us to achieve? That's due to our Vice-President Education, HENRY FU, ACB, ALB, keeping track of every members' progress with their communication and leadership manuals. Not only that, he never wasted a single moment in submitting these achievements to Toastmasters International to ensure that the members' hard work are recognised without delay.

Not forgetting members who have actively taken up roles in meetings, and club activities in the Youth Leadership Programme and Speechcraft. How could we have done it all without you? Indeed the people is what makes a club!

Thank you for a great term! Onward we move towards the term 2014/2015 under the leadership of President-Elect, HENRY FU, ACB, ALB and may we surge even further forward to becoming greater thanwhat we already are!

Signing off,
Hoo Sze Ling

Dear esteemed members,

I am pleased to announce to you that our club has achieved the recognition of President's Distinguished Club for the term 2013/2014! This recognition has been bestowerd on our club by virtue of having achieved 10 out of 10 DCP goals set by Toastmasters International every year!
